I hope your Christmas and New Year’s celebrations were wonderful.
I think it’s a good time to reflect on 2021. How was our 2021? It was the first year that we entirely run all our language courses and classes online. I think we feel more comfortable and professional when teaching online. And you, our learners, also find your online lessons more effective, enjoyable and satisfying. Thank you for all your positive feedback and re-joining our online courses every term.
The last months of 2021 were more intensive, as we were looking for three language tutors: in Chinese (temporary), Polish and Russian. Fortunately, all the new language tutors joined our team relatively quickly: we had already worked with our new temporary Chinese tutor (how lucky to have her back!), our new Russian tutor is also our language learner of Polish, so we have got to know her wonderful qualities for nearly a year now, and our Polish tutor was just the best candidate for the post.
We celebrated our 9th anniversary in 2021. Well done to all involved in BLS over those years and till now. It’s good to be surrounded by amazing language tutors and dedicated and loyal language students! Thank you!
What goals do we have for 2022? Personally, I think due to the current times, I have re-evaluated my work-life balance, and I’m slowly learning how to manage my time better, so that I can be as effective as a businesswoman, but also spend a lot of quality time with my family and friends. It’s definitely a work in progress for me. I’m sure many of you feel the same, especially now when I have a feeling that being an extra hard-working person is a real quality, but let’s not forget about our life outside of work and about our passions, e.g. languages, travelling or sports.
We also want our courses to continue being run online. Will we offer face-to-face tuition; it depends on many factors: what the global situation will look like, if our tutors are willing to run in-person lessons, and if our learners will be happy to do face-to-face learning. The most possible scenario is that we’ll continue our online courses and start offering face-to-face on top of our virtual teaching. However, please rest assured that once this becomes possible, we’ll most certainly let you know via our newsletter and on social media.
I’m also very excited as our winter language term starts very soon: on Monday 17/01/21! We offer 10 different languages with many levels to choose from. Please visit our website to find out more about our rich selection of language courses available for study this winter, and get in touch if you have any questions, or need your language skills assessed. You can register on our winter language course here.
Wishing you a wonderful New Year & hope to see you soon!
