BLS Terms and Conditions

We think it is useful to have answers in advance to questions that may arise during your time learning with us. You are therefore invited to read the following Terms and Conditions.

Language Courses – We run our sessions on the basis of 10-lesson (or 8-lesson) blocks to ensure continuity and progression of learning. Courses must be booked and paid for in advance. The full block of lessons must be paid for in one instalment.  Fees paid are non-transferable and non-refundable. In the instance of having only 2 students enrolled, we run 10 (or 8) hourly lessons and if only one person registers, we offer 5 (or 4) hourly lessons.

Individual Language Tuition – Individual lessons can be booked on an ad hoc basis or as a course of lessons, depending on the student’s language needs. Individual lessons must be booked and paid for in advance. We require 24-hours’ notice of cancellation. If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the lesson might not be rescheduled or refunded.

Tutor Illness – If your language tutor is unwell and unable to take the class, whenever possible we will arrange for a substitute tutor to take the class. Failing that, whenever we can, we will try to make up the session on another date, although on some rare occasions this may not be possible. In this case, we will either refund you the cost of the session or reduce the price of your next booking accordingly.

Student Illness – If you are ill and are unable to make a session, we are unable to provide a refund for this session.

Appendix: Special Circumstances’ Policy (October 2020)

As the current situation requires us to update our T&Cs, we have decided to add an appendix to them. Please see it below.

In the coming terms, we will either run the lessons in our school or online. We will inform the enrolled students in due course where the lessons will take place. We will do our best to run the whole term either in school or online, however, we may need to change the setting due to changes in circumstances.

In the event that we run our lessons online, we will ensure our language tutors have the right equipment and good internet connection to enable high quality lessons. However, in rare occasions, we may need to postpone or re-schedule a lesson due to technical issues. We would ask potential students who want to join our online learning courses to check their equipment and internet strength, as we are not responsible for any technical difficulties being on the student’s side.

In the event that we run our lessons in the school setting, we ask all students to follow the government guidance and medical advice regarding feeling unwell, travelling abroad and self-isolation. We want everybody coming to the school to feel safe and comfortable.

When any situation arises, we’ll review our terms and conditions to address the development, to act in the best interests of our tutors and students. We may also decide to change our policy due to the number of students enrolled, other special circumstances, or in favour of a different solution.
